Administration

Principal | Courtney Land
My name is Mrs. Courtney Land, and I am a resident of Nash County where I was born and raised. My educational journey included Spring Hope Elementary, Spaulding Elementary, Southern Nash Middle, and graduating from Southern Nash High School. I pursued my degree in Elementary Education at Methodist University in Fayetteville, where I also enjoyed playing basketball for four years at the collegiate level. I always aspired to become a Principal, and after several years of teaching in the district, I obtained my Master's Degree from Gardner-Webb University. Prior to my current role, I served as an Assistant Principal at MB Hubbard Elementary. I then moved to the position of Principal at Red Oak Elementary and Winstead Avenue Elementary, and I am now serving at Cooper's Elementary. There is an unparalleled joy in witnessing a child acquire life-long skills, achieve something for the first time, and form enduring friendships with their peers. I am blessed to have the opportunity to experience this every day here at Cooper's Elementary.

Assistant Principal | Franchesca Kelley
With great enthusiasm, I would like to introduce myself as the Assistant Principal of Coopers Elementary School. It is truly an honor to help lead a school that is home to such bright students, a dedicated and talented staff, and a wonderfully supportive community.
As a proud native of Nash County and a product of Nash County Public Schools, this role holds special significance for me. I earned my degree in Early Childhood Education from East Carolina University and later returned to obtain a degree in Elementary Education. I went on to complete a Master’s in Elementary Education and, most recently, a Master’s in School Administration from Gardner-Webb University.
For the past nineteen years, education has been my passion. I have had the privilege of serving students from Pre-Kindergarten through 5th grade in a variety of roles—including classroom teacher, instructional coach, multi-classroom leader, and assistant principal. I am now thrilled to bring my experience and commitment to excellence to the BULLDOG community.
Strong relationships between families, teachers, and administrators are essential to student success. I encourage you to stay actively involved in your child’s educational journey and school life. I am incredibly fortunate to be part of Cooper’s leadership team, and I look forward to partnering with you to ensure a successful and enriching year for all of our students.
